WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has some business advice for beleaguered Boeing airplane makers.
In a Monday tweet about Boeing’s grounded new airplane, Trump said: “What do I know about branding, maybe nothing (but I did become President!), but if I were Boeing, I would FIX the Boeing 737 MAX, add some additional great features, & REBRAND the plane with a new name.”
He added: “No product has suffered like this one. But again, what the hell do I know?”
Critics quickly pointed out that Trump’s major foray into the airline business – the Trump Shuttle – went bust in 1992.
Trump offered his marketing advice after announcing last month that his administration had grounded the Boeing 737 Max 8 planes in the wake of catastrophic crashes in Ethiopia and in the Java Sea off Indonesia.ones
The United States was the last holdout among nation countries that already grounded the airplane.
